how to fix up security tab problem

for some strange reason, I have trouble with the security tab of file/folder
property in windows explorer in one Windows XP Pro PC.

From administrators acct or from any account, I can add everyone,
administrators, some built-in acct but
not other accounts, or even groups like users, power users.

what can I do to fix up this winxp pro os?

Strange, never heard of this problem.
Can you post a screenshot so I can see what could be the problem.
