got a new power unit, ATX 550W and managed to fit it in the pc and runs fine, but....

i bought it because my new graphics card needed more power to run (i had a 300 W unit before) and my pc is still saying that there is not sufficient power for the card to run at full settings.

please recommend any other power units, Thank you for your time :)

For a long time now, the AGP slot has been unable to fully meet the power demands of high performance videocards. The 6600GT 128 card requires an external power source through the molex power connector on the top right hand corner, so be sure to plug it in before starting up the PC.

Your PSU may not have enought Amps on the 12v ... you should look for at least 20A for an AGP system ... look at the lable on the side of the PSU.

ok, there should be a 4 pin connector on the graphics card to plug the PSU into it, do that and it should work

If it is an AGP 6600 there WILL be a conector ... it there is not, you got a bum deal.
