power supply replacement

I've been looking around for the same brand name and model # no luck there,
now I do find replacement with different part #, when I type in the part # of
the psu I'm trying to replace. Is there anything I need to know before buying
this part is there is no warranty nor returns. You talked about an adaptor.

The adaptor goes between the standard ATX Power connector and the
motherboard. It is only required as far as I know if you plan to upgrade a
DELL computer. Some and only some models of DELL computers used a
non-standard pin-out.
