This message was posted in a yahoo power point newsgroup. When I click on
the link, the page that appears looks like it is a legit MS page. after
clicking download and trust Microsoft; Norton detects the sasser virus.

Is this a MS page?????
How can I find a good link to the Power Point Viewer??????

George

PowerPoint 2003 Viewer
The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer lets you view full-featured presentations created
in PowerPoint 97 and later versions.

That is a legitimate address and there is no virus in the file. I have just
downloaded it myself and scanned it with Norton AV and it came up clean. By
the way, the sasser virus doesn't spread via files, as far as I know.

Other than uppercase/lowercase, it looks the same as the URL we've been using for the
viewer all along:

George,

Perhaps this is triggering norton to have a look at your computer elsewhere....and it finds the sasser virus.

I'd do a full scan to be sure.
