PowerPoint Viewer 2003 could not start (Windows 98 Second Edition)

I'm currently running Windows 98 Second Edition with PowerPoint 97 installed
(that I've had for years) and I wish to be able to view PowerPoint 2003
Presentations and Slide Shows created in PowerPoint 2003.

So I downloaded PowerPoint Viewer 2003 from this location:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...27-43AB-4F24-90B7-A94784AF71A4&displaylang=en

However, when I run PowerPoint Viewer 2003 (after installation), I get this
error:

The Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2003 could not start. This version of
the PowerPoint Viewer is only supported on Microsoft Windows 98 Second
Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows
Server 2003.

That's a good definition of irony for ya.

Anywho...

What can I do about this?

I don't know what to tell you because I know that it works on Windows 98 SE
systems and does not work on Windows 98 systems. Are you sure that you have 98
SE?

Yes, of course.

I've checked it many times (over 1,000 more like), but I'll check again.

System Properties
says (under System):

Microsoft Windows 98
Second Edition
4.10.2222B

NOTE: You can get to System Properties using any the methods below:
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> (double-click) System
On the desktop, right-click My Computer and select Properties
Using your keyboard, hold the Windows Key and press Pause/Break

I personally like the Windows Key + Pause/Break.
