Power Options Gone

On my Dell laptop with XP Pro, there no longer are any
options in the Power control panel for anything other
than "do nothing" when lid is closed. It used to ask me
about standby or hibernate, but those options are gone.
Also, when I shut down, I no loner have the option to
standby in the shutdown screen. The standby option is
there, but it is grayed out. I tried to reinstall SP@,
and also ran the scannow utility, but the problem
remains. Help would be appreciated.

ACPI is already installed and, according to computer,
working properly. Any other thoughts?
