Power On Settings

Whenever power is resumed after a power outage e.g. power cut, my PC
automatically powers up - is there a setting to disable this? I have XP Pro.

Many Thanks

Brendan,

After any system error your computer reboots by default. To disable this
'feature':

* go to 'start' > 'settings' > 'control panel'
* click 'system' > 'advanced' tab > 'settings'
* under heading 'startup & recovery' click 'Settings'
* Uncheck 'automatically restart' > 'OK'
* Reboot

Brian,

This is a bios setting and varies depending on your hardware. I have a Dell
computer and my bios allows me to select what to do when there is a power
failure, in your case you would want the pc to remain off.
