Hi will try a new post as cant see previous.....when i pause screen on
bootup the writing on screen says power managment disabled...i always
thought these paramerters on bootup reflected bios settings ? is it possible
xp can disable power managment or have i missed something in bios...the acpi
setting is S1/pos (default ) or the other option was suspend to ram( but
never used this so unsure) ..m/board gigabyte GA-7ZM.....i just need to
check this first before i do a repair on xp to load the correct acpi drivers
to enable power down on shutdown

Very strange ...well thankyou anyway...the reply states i have proberly
missed a setting in the bios...but the only ajustable paramerters seem to
be the ones i mentioned below or i have option "load bios defaults" or"
load setup defaults" the first being for maximum stability the second max
performance but i dont think either of these have anything to do with power
managment so cant find any other settings in bios there isnt an actual
enable /disable acpi thats what made me wonder if xp has somehow disabled
power managment some other settings below
