Lost Standby

After a clean install due to changing motherboard, CPU & RAM, I seem to have
lost standyby. It's not in Power Management and it's greyed out on the
shutdown menu. Also, after eliminating the welcome screen standby doesn't
appear at all in the shutdown dialog.
The default BIOS setting for ACPI is {S1(POS)}, which is for normal standby.

Relevant Specs:
Gigabyte GA-8KNXP mainboard
P4 3ghz
1024 Corsair DDR400 PC3200 in dual channel mode

These were the changed components. Thanks for any ideas,
