Power Management Issue

We're using an enterprise edition of spyware software that kicks off at
midnight and scans every workstation. In order for each workstation to be
scanned, they have to be powered on. Some staff are concerned about wasting
energy resources.

Is there a way to put machines on standby or hibernate and wake them up at
midnight so the spyware scan can run and then power them back down again?
Thanks for your help.

If the workstations have the required hardware and BIOS, you can use
Wake On LAN.
