Power Icon on laptop

S

Shane Nation

I have a laptop running Windows XP home SP2.

I have gone into power management and ticked the display power icon in task
bar option; I have also selected "Always show" for that icon from the task
bar properties.

However when the laptop has been switched off and back on again the icon
does not appear. The display icon box remains ticked?

To get the icon to show I have to un tick the box, click apply, re tick the
box, click apply and the log off and back on!

Please does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I don't have an answer for you, but I at least want to let you know I'm not
alone...I have both a Compaq Presario 1710 and a brand-new Dell Inspiron
5160 that have been exhibiting the same behavior ever since SP2 went in, and
I'm trying to find an answer myself.
