Potential Malware Uninstall

Stuart

I have twice now installed software and distrusted the installation. Each
time I did a system restore to a time before the installation and deleted
the software from my system. I have done this each time rather than
uninstalling the software. Does this make sense or am I asking for trouble
proceeding this way?

It is not good practive to use system restore unless all else failsbut it
is better if you just uninstall the conflicting software.
Just check the program file folder it was in after the uninstall and delete
what is in there
You should also check the All Users and Your Folder in Application Data and
see if it is gone from there too.

I don't think you are asking for trouble--System Restore is thorougly
tested. Do bear in mind that other code besides the one you are wishing to
remove may be--OS or application patches, for example.

I'd rather that you were more selective before the install, though!
