post svchost.exe fix problem

I had the svchost.exe problem and downloaded the patch
found at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?
scid=kb;en-us;823980. I'm fairly certain that I was
careful to only download the Win2000 version (checking
again today showed that that's the patch path that I
followed--as opposed to XP). But now I can't access Word
or Excel; when I try to use them, I get an installer
prompt telling me to insert the Microsoft Office XP Small
Business disc. Any advice would appreciated.
