I have just bought a new desktop PC but when I boot it, it comes with all the garbage at startup telling the user what is in the system etc. Surely, for kids this info is completely useless because they are only interested how to get to their games faster!!

How do I stop this screen? My laptop from Dell doesn't have this screen.

Thanks.

POST screen is not part of any Windows. You need to check in the PC's
BIOS/CMOS setups in order to see if you tell the BIOS not to display the
POST screen(s).

Look for certain setups. Some possible setup sections:

"Boot Logo Screen"
"Quiet Boot"
"Quick Boot"

The section info is "specific" to your motherbaoard. Check on the manuals.

Some manufacturers give you a screen to hide all the goings on from the
user. Some M/B's will give you the opportunity to view "their" generic
screen instead of the P.O.S.T. information. If you have neither you will
have to live with viewing the scrolling text.
