Possible Virus.

After my computer is logged on to the internet, I get a
warning box. It tells me it is going to shut down the
computer in 24-seconds. Then it does. It states that the
ssecurity\administrator has found an error. Do I have a
virus? I have Windows XP, with Norton Antivirus 2003. Can
I try to download updates without getting cut off?
