Go to "tools" then "options" and then to the "security" tab.
Uncheck the box in front of "Do not allow attachments to be opened or saved
that - - - "

Hi richard I can recieve the email and know how i can make windows mail
accept the attachment. The problem is, what is my friend doing wrong at his
end? Every one he sends attachments too are rejecting his attachments, they
are important for his business. So we need to know what he can change to fix
it.
thanks

Have your friend attach PDFs instead of the potientially unsafe Word
documents. Many of his e-mail recipeints may not have Word, but they all
have either Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader.

The problem with sending out Word documents is that many casual
computer users don't have Word installed.
Your friend could make it inline HTML (in he body of the email),
instead of making it an attachment.
