I know I can use Phone Dialer or any one of hundreds of software programs to
speed dial on the computer. I want to go farther and actually talk through
the modem. Or voice modem I guess. I haven't heard of software that
allows.....Caller ID (on call waiting or visual call waiting), and a pop up
window of notes made from last call to that person. And of course
voicemail. And a real kicker would be something that answers the call
(voicemail) while you're on the phone - I guess it would have to initiate
some sort of three way calling technology.......but that is sheer luxury.
You can always get voicemail from your telephone company for that......still
its about $95 a year.

I'm sure all you want is available, you'll just have to search for it.
Be prepared to pay for such software it wont be cheap!

Skype is for long distance. I'm talking local calls. Like calling your
buddy a few blocks away with the same headset you use for gaming, chat, etc.
Logging the calls on a computer for better filtering, info retrieval for
info on last call, etc.

I'm talking local calling - not VOIP. No need to use the Internet when
calling your mama on the other side of town.
