Is it possible to set the position of the cursor so that it is in the same
place whenever I open a document?

None that I know of.

TIP: Pressing Home on the keyboard moves the cursor to the start of a line.
Pressing Ctrl+Home will move the cursor to the start of the document. The
End key works the same way: End for the end of a line. Ctrl+End to move to
the end of a document.
