Kayman

I just downloaded and unzipped PortReporter tool.

According to http://support.microsoft.com/?id=837243 it is suggested,
before installing, to "Quit all programs that are running on the computer,
including the Services tool and Event Viewer in Administrative Tools."

Well, I found Event Viewer and Services in the Administrator Tools panel but
don't know how to I quit these applications.

In 'Services (Local)' panel I neither can find 'Service Tool' or 'Event
Viewer' but only 'Event Log'.

How can I quit/disable 'Service Tools' and 'Event Viewer' ?

TIA.........................Kayman.

That is about the tools located in administrative tools (Control Panel >
Administrative tools)

For example,
service tools = Component Serrvices, Services etc..
Event Viewer = Event Viewer

That means if they are running, quit them. If not, OK

Thanks for response Ayush.

I want to get this right; So I need to disable ALL services which are
currently running, such as Application Layer, Application Manager, Automatic
Updates plus about 40 other services.
