port blocking dial up access

After installing SP2 my dial up banking connection no longer works. The modem
dials out fine but as soon as the remote computer tries to connect it drops
the line.
I suspect that SP2 is blocking some ports that need to be open, but how can
I find out which ports are involved ?
I have disabled the XP Firewall (got a McAfee running anyway), unistalled
SP2, but the problem still exists. Have now re-installed SP2 and re-installed
the modem drivers. Have even tried another modem, all to no avail !
My regular internet connection (broadband) continues to work without
problems. It's just this one dial up that's driving me mad.

I had this same problem... had to contact my online bank website and ISP
provider. Each blamed each other after calling them several times they
finally got it worked out. Or it got fixed using the report broken link on
this page on the search engine that always opened when it couldn't find the
site. Simply type the address that worked in the box and send it to them...
about 4 or 5 times... they'll get the hint...... SP2 could have installed
the new msn search engine that blocks bad stuff like porn sites and your bank
most likely got pegged as one like mine... LOL it came out around the same
time and the 2 clashed. But your best bet is calling your Online Bank Help
Number and get them to deal with it. Ask to speak to the Liason or " I "" T
" person so it will get sent to someone higher up.
