and can I delete them?

IIS Control module -> IIS will not work
port -> RPC (DCOM)
Session manager - base of NT Authority , can't be deleted on working
windows -> windows will die...
Port - many for authentification
and can I delete them?
Just install firewall

inetinfo comes from having installed IIS. You can always shut down or do not let to start the Internet Information Services. That would be IIS Admin Service and all its dependents. The other smss nno you cannot have that service off and have a working operating system. Are you sure these services are interfering with your COM ports?

Hi George - Thanks for your reply.
No, I don't know what is using my com port. Everything checks out except I can't get a dial tone since I upgraded to 2K.
Port alredy open. Just trying to find reasons why.

I've had this happen under other windows versions...uninstall the modem,
reboot, let win find the "new" modem and install drivers, should be ok.
