Porsche Unleashed--Need for Speed

I am trying to install the above-mentioned game onto
Windows XP. This game is made by Electronic Arts and is
set up for 95/98 Windows. I contacted EA and they game me
a list of things to try. (1) Go to C:program Files\EACom
and right clighk on the file called "buddy.exe" and select
the 98 compatability tab. I was also to do the same for
the files of "EAAskUpdate.exe" and "EAUpdate.exe." I did
all of this and it failed. When I started the game it did
not change and an error report popped up to be filed with
Microsoft. This game is for my grandson and both of us
have about had it with this game. We have purchased two
different games and neither one works. I know it is
because I have Windows XP on my computer; but, I am
totally at a loss as to why nothing I try works. Can you
please help me solve this problem?

The game was originally designed to run under Windows 2000 as well (I have
the box here and it says Windows 95/98/2000), so normally it should run
under XP without comaptibility modes. However there are a lot of bugs in the
game which cause problems especially under Windows 2000 and XP.

When I started the game it did
not change and an error report popped up to be filed with
Microsoft.

What does the error message say? Did it appear before applying compatibility
modes?

What is the name of the other game, and what is the problem?
