Porno Pop-ups

On MSN Internet explorer, whenever I try to leave the home page to access
Hot Mail, when the sign in page appears, I cannot sign in because
pornographic pop-ups keep appearing; clicking "Back" brings either the same
pop up or a different one even worse than the previous one. I have never
been int looking at this kind of sites and there is nothing I can do, except
go back to the home page and, from there, to any other site. Hot Mail is no
longer usable at all. But now, when from the home page I click on an out of
state newspaper site, for example, the exact same problem happens: to go
from the home page to a county section is impossible because porno pop ups
won't allow it as if the problem were spreading. The computer is extremely
important to me to comunicate with the outside world and I don't want to
loose the ability to use it because of these porno adds, accompanied by
multiple cookies from many places trying to come in while I am fighting the
porno pop up. Please someone help me. Give me an idea of what to do. Have
NORTON Antivirus, ADAWARE, SPYBLASTER, SPYBOT Search and Destroy, and AVG
Antivirus and I use them all, one after the other to no avail. Please help
me. A.J.

I had a similar problem some time ago...there was 2 solutions available to me
:-

Buy a Spyware killer, or reformat and start again..the reformat option was
not practical, and even then dubious depending on what info they had gotten.

Anyhow, I bought a spyware program, still use it, and it is very surprising
how much it removes..daily...no matter where I go on the web, there is always
something that comes up. but after 2 scans it did get rid of the problem for
me.

I use Xoftspy look it up it seems about the best out there and done the
trick for me.

Good luck, I know how annoying it is.

First, run MSCONFIG and check the startup list. Is there any program there
that seems odd? If so, disable it.

Second, have you tried to reboot in safe mode and then run your spy checker
software?

If not, make sure you have the latest data sets for AdAWARE and SPYBOT.
Boot in safe mode (press F8 while the system boots). Run AdAware with the
"custom scanning options" selected, you don't want the smart scan.

If all this fails, try to find a copy of HijackThis and download it. Follow
the instructions.

When visiting porn sites, always be careful not to download/install
their "free" viewers. You'll get more than expected, every time. To
repair the current situation, uninstall the "viewer(s)" provided and
then use Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search and Destroy
from www.safer-networking.org/ to clean up any residue. Both have
free versions for personal use.

You should also try using MSConfig to see if something is being
started each time you reboot.

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the
system registry, primarily in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.

varieties of scumware are available here:
