ANNOYING SPYARE/SPYLOCK BALLON

I have an 'acer' laptop which has been fine until I wanted to view a video
online and to view this video i HAD to download a "Video Activex Object".
Ever since I have had random porno pop ups and anti-virus software popups,
also my laptop has been running a lot slower. Before the ballon pops up I
have a continuous flashing warning sign (exlimation mark in a yellow
triangle) followed by a yellow cross in a blue circle. I don't understand why
this ballon keeps tellin me about having to download virus software, I think
it might be a virus itself. I can't play video games because the ballon makes
it freeze I would reinstall my entire laptop, that's how desperate I am to
get rid of this thing but I have lost the CD. I know this is a very long
message, if anyone came help it will me much appreciated.

Thanks

Two part reply..

Perform Part 1 then perform Part 2.

It is suggested that you execute each tool in Normal Mode then in Safe Mode.

Part 1
-----------

Use noahdfear's SmitFraud, SpyAxe, SpyFalcon, et. al., removal tool -- SmitRem.exe
http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click counter/click.php?id=1

Part 2
-----------

S!ri's SmitfraudFix

In addition;
You accessed a 'dodgy' site or video, which has persuaded you to download a
file 'Video ActiveX Object' which was infected with malaware
Most malaware / viruses are installed by users clicking on something and
opening / running it.

You might also contact Acer to obtain replacement cd's, as you are bound to
need them at some stage. Once received treat them like 'gold'

That's correct. The so-called "Video ActiveX" (aka; VAX) is either a ZLob Trojan or a
DNSChanger Trojan that uses the concept of a; COCDEC, Video ActiveX or FreeTicket type
site.

In addition to the other good answers in this group, you also need to
install a good anti-virus program. You can get one for free (look at
free.grisoft.com), but it might be worthwhile and good insurance to purchase
a good program like McAfee or ZoneAlarm Security Suite.
Beware of of the anti-virus software popups - there is malware out there
that pops up an anti-virus message, and clicking on it would only install
yet more malware.

good luck
