popups in IE on XP when using 2 OS

Larry

i have been running on Win2K pro for a long time now and
today i installed XP SP1 on a second drive (can now boot
on either drives to win2k or winXP) but since i did that i
am getting popups like every minute (even when i am not
using the pc) they just keep coming. now i have never had
this problem before (i even have a popup blocker that has
never failed me). I only get these popups when i am
running on my C: drive (Win2k), i get no popups when i
boot on D: (WinXP).

any thoughts on how i could either stop getting popups or
just completely disable the internet on D: (the one with
XP) when i am running on C:(Win2K) ?

If the popups only happen while connected to the Internet, try disabling the
Messenger service (Start, Run, SERVICES.MSC) and see if that takes care of
them. If not, start investigating the possibility of a spyware/adware
infestation.

Yeah done all that infact i scanned with adaware a few
times to remove spyware but they always come back (by the
way these popups are web pages not messenger spam)

Try the cleaning process at http://rgharper.mvps.org/cleanit.htm to see if
it can find your unwanted guest.
