I started using POPFile with version .18, and was very, very happy with it.
I found it a *tiny* bit difficult to set up, but once it was running, it
was great.

Then it was improved. Then it was improved again. Now it's a much worse
program. :-(

So now I'm experimenting with other clients/spam killers, hoping to find
something as good as 0.18 was. Sigh.

Why do you say that? I've just started to use POPFile from K9 and find
it flawless.

I especially like how I can change the options from other computers on
the LAN.

Why not simply download and reinstall 0.18, one must ask?

Random Thought/Quote for this Post:
Knowledge rests not on truth alone, but upon error also.

At first it worked flawlessly. Error rate was < 2 percent, and none of the
errors classified ham as spam, only the other way round.

After it got improved, it's accuracy went down to 92%, with the difference
mostly classifying ham as spam. Also, it would give a probability of 1 (to
a dozen decimal places) that something was ham, then give it a
classification of spam.

After it got improved again, the accuracy got worse and the problem of
determining one probability and labelling it with the other classification
increased.

Obviously, this is just IME, and YMMV.

That's a possibility, but I'm checking out others first.
