Hi

I am getting the above message everytime I turn on my computer.

When I go to check my hotmail at outlook express 2 things happen 1)one of
my 2 hotmail accounts cannot access my mail and 2) All my mail from that
account suddenly empties.

I then go to the hotmail website and after typing in some cleverly disguised
letters and numbers I am allowed access.
When I return to outlook express the mail suddenly returns.

I have searched this forum under the subject and come up blank.

I'd appreciate any ideas and help,
Cheers

Simon

Pop3Trap.Exe is a component of Trend-Micro. Essentially it "Hooks"
into the mail to provide scanning. You should check Trend-Micro's
web site for updates to your product & make sure that it is compliant
with Hotmail. It's possible a recent change to either Hotmail or TM
may have introduced this issue.

Thanks for your help

I followed what you said but unfortunately I still had the same problem.
Today I decided to just remove the programme altogether, cause i also have
Norton. Unfortunately , although I tried about 10 times, I could not remove
it. It kept telling me there was an error in installation.
So my only solution is probably to go through the process of reloading
windows all over again.

One thing that is odd about this problem is - I use a different computer at
work that doesn't have pc-cillin but when I log onto outlook express at work
it does the same thing. If I'm not using pc-cillin at work why would all my
emails disappear on that computer?

Anyway- I now have an even bigger probelm- after downloading XP 2 SP, when
I reboot my machine -it goes through a disk check and then I get a blank
screen- only when I stop the check will windows come up. I went to a
restore point before I installed SP 2- but it made no difference.
Any ideas?

Anyway- My computer just seems to be getting worse.

Thanks for your time

Simon
