I am setting up my windows mail for the first time on my new windows vista
PC by Dell I can't send e-mil in windows mail. I also have read many threads
here and have installed the "hotfix for windows KB941090 update successfully.
Also when I use Word 2007 and want to email the document I have created, the
e-mail option is not available (its greyed out)
I called my isp and all of the info is correct for the ingoing & outgoing
servers . everytime i send i get the following error : one or more messages
in your outbox do not have a valid account-Would you like to use your defauly
account? I choose yes and then the following errors pop up:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Check out
this video from MSN!', Account: 'popsecureserver.net', Server:
'smtpout.secureserver.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 Sorry, that
domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.', Port: 80, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Account: 'popsecureserver.net', Server: 'popsecureserver.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(S Account: 'popsecureserver.net', Server:
'popsecureserver.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC19SL

I also saw something pertaining to uninstalling antivirus and am not sure
if I should do this or not. I have Trend Micro PC cillin.

I was happy to read about Chris' problem. I do have the same problem.
However, I am not what we call the best regarding computer, and my mother
tongue is French, therefore, I am not sure to well understand your answer.

I started setting my account with Outlook. I had a problem. I called my
supplier to get technical assistance. They did not support Outlook, so I
change for Windows Mail. I was able to send email to and from my hotmail
account to my other email address. But for one of my contact, I got the same
error message as Chris.

I really don't know where to go, or look to fix the problem. Can you help?

You need to get your account set up properly, before messing with hotfixes
and AV programs.

Did you activate SMTP relay on your email account, as per
http://products.secureserver.net/email/email_outlookexpress.htm
and check [x] "My server requires authentication" ?

Also, you are missing a "." in the Incoming (POP3) server name...
it should be pop.secureserver.net

Are you sure it's exactly the same error message? If there is any
difference
at all, click on it, then try to copy it to your next message. We can
recognize
many of the important details of the message even if most of it is in
French.

If you want more help with Outlook, try one of the newsgroups for Outlook,
such as microsoft.public.fr.outlook if you want to ask in French. Mention
which version of Outlook you are using and that you are using it under
Vista,
in case it matters.

Also, a few email servers have problems if there are any CAPITAL LETTERS
in the email addresses you give them, so try the same address with all
letters
in lowercase.

Regarding your problem with Word, my understanding is that Outlook must
be installed before you can send email from Word.

Dave already solved your send and receive errors.
Make sure you have "My server requires authentication" enabled.
