POP3 ansSMTP server time outs using Office 2003 Outlook

Hi,
My ISP reckons this is a known Outlook bug that should be fixed by office
Service Pack 3, but after a week of frustration, and doing what I am told, I
still get the following errors, 0x800CCC15, 0x8004210A, 0x8004210B. The Big
Pond webmail seems to work fine and all the e-mail account settings were
checked with the their technical support. I applies the registry change
recommended in the particular hotfix, but that made no difference. It was
working fine until a week ago, although it would send multiple copies of
300kb e-mails to addressees. The sending seemed to fail before the receiving.

Do you have any security products (e.g. antivirus, firewall, antispam, .etc)
installed that can scan pop3/imap e-mail as it is sent/received? The reason
that I ask is that these programs act as a middle man between the mail
client and server and can introduce some weird behavior.

Just so you know, what I usually suggest to folks to troubleshoot is:
1) Does this same behavior happen in Outlook Express?

2) Can you remove the security products and just run a Windows XP (SP2) with
the Windows firewall on and then try the mail program again?

Thanks, Neo,
I have disabled Trend Micro with no change. This morning I ran the test
e-mail settings successfuly, but still received a time out error.
Outlook Express seems to have disappeared from my list of programs, so I am
relying on webmail until I can Outlook to work.
Cheers,
John
