Pop ups when Ie is invoked

I have Symantec, and ICF enabled, and run Adaware and
Spybot daily...seems to have kept issues to a minimum
except for one thing.... I have an annoying issue with
pop up windows once IE is invoked, and subsequently
closed down. When I open IE to my home page, sometimes I
get the same pop up window that is blank..once I close
that window I dont get it again during that IE session.
But when I close IE, the pop up shows up immediately...I
close that window - and another one shows up....I close
that one, and it stops...running av and spyware stuff
hasnt made a difference.

How do I get rid of them? Using regedit and find them?

thanks for the help all!

Go to Tools, Internet Options and click on Advanced tab. Remove the checkbox
Eable thrid-party browser extensions and restart your IE.

also, go to \WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files and remove/delete the ones
that you think might be spyware or not needed. Right click on it and select
properties. look in CodeBase: field foor company website and do some
investigation on it.
