Pop ups open but have no content

I have Windows XP, and IE 6. Whenever I click on a link that spawns a new, smaller window (like this one used to type this question), the box opens but there is nothing displayed in it. I have run the updates and uninstalled and re-installed but nothing works. ALso, I cannot get to www.google.com and get a re-direct to netscape many times. HELP! This is driving me crazy.

As for your Google problem, try renaming your HOSTS file (see below)

I have had a similar problem - if a link specifies a new window, nothing
happens!

This started immediately after I installed the latest 'service patch' for
IE6
