Pop-ups! Even with blocker set to high

I still haven't found an answer to my dilemma in these IE message threads.
Does anyone have an answer short of total scrub & restore of my system?

-I get random pop-ups whenever MSN or IE6 are open.
-There is a noticeable drag in OS speed & connection speed
-Pop-ups include: ad.firstadsolution.com; www.tipany.com (SuperRewards);
PartyPoker.com; and more...

+Blocker is set to High (block all)
+Scanned and cleaned using AdAware & McAfee in Safe Mode
+Tried Spybot, but inteferred with legitimate programs and never found
malicious ones
+Downloaded HijackThis, but have no idea what to do with the info

Now what?
