pop up notification problem

I am using Norton anti virus. When my computer was infected by a spyware,
both norton and windows detected it. I used norton to remove the spyware, but
there is a pop up notification from windows that doesn't go away no matter
what i do. The notification balloon says:

"Windows has detected spyware infection!

It's recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss,
windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you.

Click here to protect your computer from spyware!"

Any one knows how to fix this?

When you said Norton and Windows, do you mean with windows defender or
what?, norton is Anti-Virus program not Anti-Spware.
You need a special Anti-Spyware to protect and clean your computer from
malware/Grayware.
Try to download the free Lavasoft and Spybot S&D and do not run Spybot in
Tea Timer.
http://www.lacvasoftusa.com/ for SE personal use
http://www.safer-networking.org/ for S&D

Your computer is still not clean. That message is from malware.

Go through the preparatory steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Then do the specific steps here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Smitfraud_Trojan

Make sure you do the finishing up work also.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
