Pop Up Menu's Saying Spyware Detected

I am continously receiving pop up menus saying spyware detected and when I try and set my homepage to a specific site it always goes to about:blank and will not change. Any ideas??

First, turn on a firewall.

Second. Make sure of these settings and nothing will install without you
answering YES. (Except what may install as part of some other software.)

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
Make sure both of these are NOT checked.

You've got Adware!

Sounds like adware that disguises itself as a spyware detector.

Download Ad-Aware, install it, and everytime you run it, you should check for updates before you begin scanning. When the scan is completed, make sure all objects are checked to be removed.
