Pop Up Box While connected to Net

I keep getting pop up boxes most from advertisments to
STOP THESE BOXES ... (of course pay to down load
something) how do I get this to stop??

And what can be done about this VIRUS email all of a
sudden... I am getting over 100 a day I see nothing on the
Microsoft site??
