first right click on my computer on the desk top.
then select manage
next look for services and applications/...select services
then scroll down till you see messenger,right click on it
select properties
look for start up type:change this to disabled
then look below it at the service status:change this to
stopped
then hit ok then close the box your pop up free now and
with no extra costly programs clutering up your system
Here's the best popup blocker I've found. The great thing about it is you can
enter domains to always allow the popups from that domain and you can allow a
popup on a per pop basis by merely holding down the control key.The problem with
most pop up blockers is that they block all popups including things that pop up
like MSN Radio+ and other similar little windows that you want and are useful.

control panel/administrative tools/services doble click
on messanger that brings up a different box, in the drop
down box select disable, and the line under that there is
a stop button press that, then apply ok that should stop
