Pop up blocker is greyed out

I am unable to block popups in IE v.7.
When I attempt to check the box under Tools/Options/Privacy settings, the
checkmark will not stay. Also popup blocker settings are greyed out when I
just click on Tools/Popup Blocker.

Sounds like malware may have disabled it with registry settings. Assuming
you have antivirus installed make sure it is up to date with definitions
[this usually happens automatically] and run a full computer scan. When done
with that download and install the free Malwarebytes malware removal tool
and allow the option to update itself. Then run a quick scan and if and
settings are found to be implementd that should not be let the program fix
them.

Thank you. I'm running a full scan using Spyware Doctor right now. Not sure
why that SW didn't catch it to begin with. I'll let you know the results.
Thank you again.

Spyware Doctor worked but I had to run a complete scan. Its IntelliGuard did
not catch it. But its all fixed now. Thanks!

Since Spyware Doctor didn't catch the original infestation and may
itself now be infected, strongly suggest you scan the system with
Malwarebytes Anti-malware [MBAM]: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Click the Download free version button.
*Save* the file, mbam-setup.exe
Once the download completes close all open programs and browsers.
Install MBAM and allow it to update it's definitions during the
installation process.
Once the installation is finished choose the 'Quick scan' option, which
should already be marked, and click the Scan button.
When it's done scanning click the 'Show results' button.
IF anything is detected, make sure that everything is checked, and click
'Remove Selected'.
