POP problem - Yahoo to Outlook

T

Tritoneur

I receive a number of daily and monthly html newsletters through my
yahoo.co.uk account and use Yahoo's own POP service to import them to
Outlook 2000. This works well, apart from one particular letter where
occasionally the words of the text will run into one.

For example 'wehavechoicesinhowwelookatproblems'. This happens every 2 or 3
days, and only affects a few sentences. Viewing the source code, it does
appear that the problem is there i.e. that is the way the words appear in
the html. But when I contacted the webmaster of the organization concerned,
it was checked out,and I was reassured that the coding was OK at their end.
It was suggested it might be a problem with my email settings. I also tried
leaving a copy of the mails on the yahoo server and looking at them through
the yahoo site. They are fine there, so it seems the problem does occur
between Yahoo and Outlook.

This is a minor, but irritating problem. Can anyone advise on whether there
are any settings issue with Outlook 2000 for receiving mail POPed from
webmail? Or is this possibly a problem from the originator, or Yahoo?

TIA

Naturally they'd tell you that, even if it weren't.

Can you view the messages online at Yahoo! and see what they look like
before you download them to Outlook?

Yes, snipped off the OP

Hence my question. The problem occurs between Yahoo and Outlook, but what
and where is the cause?

Oops. I glossed right over that. Sorry.

I can't think of anything that would cause this. Perhaps someone else might
have an idea.

O.K. Thanks, anyway, for giving it some thought Brian!
