POP 3 EMAIL

I use outlook 2003, (not outlook express) and have a pop 3 email account set
up to download my email from Verizon. I use Windows XP Pro. The problem I
have is this, when I first boot up my computer and go to my profile, run
outlook 2003, my email downloads with no problem. I log off my profile and
log back in at another time, run outlook 2003, and then I receive an error
message saying the pop 3 email server can not be found. If I shut down the
computer and restart and boot up again, I can download my email from Verizon.
This happens the same way all the time, every time. Thanks for any help!

That may be a logical thing to do, but it doesn't solve the problem. Plus,
this computer has three profiles on it so if my wife wants to go her profile,
I have to log off mine and so forth.

When the error comes up, can you ping the verizon mail serer? Can you get
to the Internet otherwise? When you ping the server, does the name resolve
to an IP address?

After I booted up my computer and went to my profile, I ran outlook 2003 and
had no problem downloading my pop 3 email from verizon. I logged off, went
back in and received the error 0x80042108 could not find incoming pop 3 email
server. To answer your question, I had no problem going to the internet
anywhere. I pinged the verizon incoming email server and had no problem. The
ping sent 4 packets and the 4 packets where received and it does not resolve
to an IP address. If I reboot the computer, back to normal, I can download my
email, log off and error comes back.

Arnold,
I may have given you wrong info. When I pinged the server, the ping was okay
and an IP address was put up on the screen 4 times. It was 206.46.232.10. Is
this what you mean resolve to an IP address? If not, what do you mean?
