i captured a party using sony handyman dcr-hc20 camcorder . then used windows
movie maker/picturepackage 1.0/windvd creator/nerovision express se to
capture the video to the toshiba p30 laptop(usb connection). after editing
the movie, i burnt the video to a dvd/vcd using dvd -ram burner. when i play
the movie in dvd player the video is fuzzy. however when i play the original
digital video using the camcorder on my tv(a/v connection).the video quality
is veryvery good.

1)how can i improve the video quality(dvd/vcd)?
2)if i buy ieee cable ,will it solve my problem?

thanks for the info. today i went and bought a firewire cable. but it does
not save my purpose . one end is wider than other(6-->4). i have to buy a
cable with 4 pins at both ends.
3)when i use usb cable why DV-AVI format is disabled?

because DV is only for the firewire input

Most notebooks have 4 pin firewire sockets. Most desktops have 6 pin
sockets. Digital camcorders only have 4 pin sockets.

There are 6 pin to 6 pin cables
4 pin to 4 pin cables
4 pin to 6 pin cables

USB can only import analog video. Hence no DV-AVI.
