poor microphone out put,, every body struggles to hear me

cant get any good sound out of my mic when using the likes of,, yahoo
messenger,, ,,skype,, ,,msn messenger,, every body i talk to says they cant
hear me there is no power behind my voice ,, ive tryed a new mic ,, no change
,, have configured all my audio and no change ,,

most sound cards I've seen offer a microphone boost feature.

double-click the volumn control tray icon, choose properties, and switch
to recording, then look under microphone, there should be a boost check
box or an advanced button - look in there for the boost check box.
