How do I get a pointer to appear on both screens simultaneously in Powerpoint
presentation mode?

How is your computer set up; mirrored output or extended desktop?

It is set up with extended desktop. I think it has to be for presentation
mode. I mean the mode where you have the controls on the laptop screen, and
the slide full-screen on the projector.

Then the cursor/pointer will only show up on one screen or the other, just
as when running any applicaiton in an extended desktop scenario. The
computer looks at the dual screen as one large area for the mouse/pointer
and reads its position in only one place; whether it be on the local or
projected screen.

What are you trying to accomplish, or avoid?
