Pointer device setup

I have just upgraded from 98se to xp (he) on a compaq
laptop. Using the touch pad when the pointer hovers over
a click box it activates. How can I turn off this
function. I have checked the pointer setup boxes and can
find nothing on how to make this stop. I do not want
anything to happen if I do not click a touch pad/mouse
button. Help

Make sure that you've installed updated touchpad drivers for XP from
Compaq. Then look at the mouse sensitivity and turn it down.
