Something like this??
http://www.clearpc.ca/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=28

Though I don't know if that Compaq has proprietary m/b fittings and PSU, but
the case being acrylic, it should be easy to modify...

(This the "micro" version, but I don't know if it'll fit)

Where when and which model of Clear Plastic Case should be bought
for this PC? Everything needs to be removed from this case in
installed into a new see through case. Then this PC will be brought
to my grandkid's school for them to view without sticking their hands
in there.

know of any.

My main point was that I see no advantage to having them.

I, too, see little value in them.

C'mon guys.. when you have spent thousands on twin SLI video cards, a hand
painted 3kW gaming power supply, four of the meanest, fastest SATA drives,
and as many in-case dumb accessories as would fit in there, you would want
to see it all in action.. also, you wouldn't have to remove anything to see
model and serial numbers.. you could instantly see if a fan was not working,
and spend countless hours trying not to let any dust show..

And then there is the possibility of placing fake aquarium plants in the
base and suspending plastic goldfish from the top.. this is your complete
home entertainment system..

Now tell me that you can't see the merit in an all clear acrylic case.. :)

LOL!

You forgot to mention adding fluorescent lighting to create a "mood light".

Thanks, Mike!

I assume you mean this to be tongue in cheek, but just in case there is any
possibility that they are taken seriously by the OP, I'll stress these
points again.

1. There is no action to see. The only moving parts besides fans are in
sealed cases.

2. The OP isn't talking about fancy hand-painted components. He's talking
about ordinary components and he wants the students to be able to see them
in action. However, regarding action, see point 1 above. There isn't any.

also, you wouldn't
have to remove anything to see model and serial numbers..

That could actually be a useful benefit, if it were true, but it hardly ever
is. Serial numbers on cards, drives etc, are very unlikely to be positioned
so they are visible, even through a clear case.

you could
instantly see if a fan was not working, and spend countless hours
trying not to let any dust show..

Yes, seeing whether fans are working *is* a good reason to have a
see-through case, or at least one with a window

Seeing any buildup of dust (which can cause overheating problems) is also of
value.

As far as I'm concerned, these are the only two useful things about having
clear windows in cases. But they doesn't matter here, because the OP's
stated objective has nothing to do with them. He said "this PC will be
brought to my grandkid's school for them to view without sticking their
hands in there." He apparently thinks there is something in a PC to watch,
and my point was that there wasn't.

And then there is the possibility of placing fake aquarium plants in
the base and suspending plastic goldfish from the top.. this is your
complete home entertainment system..

Lest I had any doubts that your comments were tongue in cheek, you wanted to
be sure.

Excellent idea; however. I would pick the parts up carefully to move them
rather than sliding.
