Plug and Play not Working

D

Danny

I reinstalled Windows XP Home to correct a problem that I
was having. I did not create a restore point prior to
doing this. I did not do a repair because I don't have the
administrator password.

The device manager does not include ANY monitors and it
will not load the driver for the monitor that I have.
When I try to install the driver from the manufacturer's
software, nothing happens. Plug and Play also does not
recognize any other monitor when connected. Only the
Default monitor settings are working.

I also installed a PCI modem. WinXP did not detect this
either. It appears that the Plug and Play is simply not
functioning after the reinstall.

The Add new Hardware wizard does not work either.
Plug and play is enabled in the BIOS.

I don't where to go from here. Please help.
