thanks for the info but in order for me to run the boot diskettes i have to
download them from ms,now the problem is i cant log into my computer to do
that....unless i have them installed already...Anyways all i know right now
is that im stuck in the login screen,and control alt delete does nothing...

So why can't you use this "different computer" to download and create
the XP setup disks and then use these disks to boot the non-working
computer and attempt the repairs suggested by Jose?
