PLS Help!! Problem regarding 0xc0000005

I tried to install a game software called the sims making
magic. however i recieved a msg saying "The application
failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)
Click on OK to terminate the application".

i've checked with microsoft help and support website. but
the problem is that my sound card is not creative labs
sound blaster, which it claims to be the cause.

i've contacted the software's manufacturer and they said
the say thing as microsoft help and support website and
have changed the disc. but the problem persists.

what is the actual cause of the problem?? And how do i
resolve the problem? pls help pls...

The Sims games have a large and helpful user contingent. There are many
sites dedicated to helping Sims players. Using the search term "The
Sims problems" on Google brings up about 531,000 links. I do know that
if you don't install Sims add-on packs on exactly the right order,
things don't work. However, since I don't play those games, I can't
tell you the order. Google for some of those 531,000 links.
