Hello,

My laptop has XP and when I turn it on this time, the blue log-in screen
shows up but all of the accounts/users that are suppose to be on the
right-hand side of the log-in screen aren't there! I can't click on anything,
the only thing that I can do after getting to the point is click the Turn Off
option on the bottom left of the screen. I tried F8 but none of the other
modes helped. They all bring me to the same log-in screen with no log-in
option. I'm dumbfounded. I've dealt with viruses and crashes and such but
I've never had this problem before

I brought the laptop to GeekSquad and they can't even tell me what happened
to the notebook that caused me to lose my user accounts. One of them was
saying that it was a virus but I doubt it.

I would jsut like to know if I have any other option to deal with this
outside of re-installing XP and starting from scratch. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good day!

Good day!

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice in succession, then type your user
name and password. Post again if successful so that someone
can advise you how to make the user names visible.

Thanks, Pegasus. Your advise did get me a log-in option but now it won't take
my password. I am definitely sure that I did not forget my password. I did
try the other advises that I saw around here about using the admin account
after booting under safe-mode. I used F8, chose safe-mode, got to the log-in
screen with no users, pressed ctrl+alt+del twice to get the log-on option but
I still could not get in. I keep getting that password...domain...error note.
I tried using my user account with my password and with 'blank'. I also tried
typing Administrator as user with 'blank' and with password but none of these
worked. Still locked out.

I would still like to know if there is anything else that I can do before I
do a clean install.
