Windows Mail could not post your message. Subject 'hello?', Account:
'news.readfreenews.net', Server: 'news.readfreenews.net', Protocol: NNTP,
Server Response: '440 Posting Not Allowed.', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 440, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9

I have windows mail and can successfully post to msnews and opera and the
mozilla server, and read posts, but when i put in news.readfreenews.net,
nothing shows up for any group, its like nobody posts in, but when I tried
to post in to 24hoursupport.helpdesk, this message showed up telling me the
post failed. What is going on?

Never used that news server, but the name says to me, [readfreenews], that
you are reading, [ONLY], what 'THEY' care to display. Also 'Posting Not
Allowed', backs up that theory?

IMHO?

Your two test messages worked here.

Are you aware of the TEST newsgroup that is available on this server, solely
for the stated purpose.

"Posting not allowed"

I'd say you're not allowed to post...
Have you done so before?

not on that server, on msnews and mozilla, and what is 440 posting? there
are no posts in the 30,000 + groups either.

The message means that the news server you chose does not allow posting.
This is very clear from the error message.

Get an account on a server that allows posting. Read the terms first.
You may have to pay.

Go here http://www.motzarella.org/ it is a free news server, but you have to
register, and they send you the set up instructions by email so use a real
address to register, then use a munged address in the account setup process.

It's not "440 Posting", it's "440 Posting Not Allowed".

There is nothing you can do but move on. They won't let you post.
