Please help!

1)My husand brought a 2nd hand computor from a pawn shop. It has Windows XP
Pro. It did not come with a reboot disk. How could I ever reboot if I needed
to?

2)When I first hooked up everything & started the computor, I scould not get
pass the password. So, a family friend went inside and did something to the
computer and I was able to use it. But when I put a cd in or dvd, it tells me
that the drivers are not installed. What can I do, or where can I download
the needed drivers?

3)Last but not least, I put my old cd burner (which has a disc) from my old
computor into the new one, and my computor can't auto detect anything. Even
PC games won't start up.

Please help.
P.S. My daughter thinks I should just throw this computer in the trash-and
be happy using my old computor with Windows 98 Second Edition. Do you think
she is right? She is almost ALWAYS right...thinking... *I hate that!!!*

Or go to the store and buy a retail XP CD.
Better, take it back to the pawn shop for a refund.

Follow your daughters advice is easiest and may in the long
run, best advice.

If your hubby paid more than $100 for it, perhaps you can
salvage that much in parts. Used computers are very cheap,
even the latest models. Any used computer must be judged by
being compared to a $400 brand new Dell with a warranty, a
full set of software and tech support.

Do you have a USB keyboard...? On boot do you see your keyboard lights
flash. If you see anything on the screen, the m/b is ok.
